Brynmoor
RuneScape: Dragonwilds Brynmoor guide
Players wash up in Brynmoor, the starting Ashenfall region at power 1-2. General Velgar rules this south map and the Ghornfell north that follows it. Chop and fish in Bramblemead Valley, learn Temple Woods and Whispering Swamp, and unlock the first Skill Spells before you push toward a real dragon fight. This RuneScape: Dragonwilds Brynmoor guide stays with landing work: shelter, the first nine skills, and iron-tier gear. It does not fake node coordinates.
Brynmoor landing notes
First nights in the valley
Bramblemead Valley is the practical camp. Woodcutting hits trees, saplings, or floor logs. Fishing became the eleventh skill later, but the pond footage and the starting-region identity still tell you water is part of the landing. Construction puts a roof up. Cooking turns a catch into food. Artisan covers the first weapons, armour, or tools. You can play solo or invite co-op partners; the landing does not require a raid group.
Temple Woods and Whispering Swamp sit beside that valley as the rest of Brynmoor’s named ground. Keep power 1-2 in mind when you wander: this is the tutorial continent slice, not Fellhollow. Zogres, Black Knights, and Garou appear in official creature copy for the wider game; do not treat every silhouette you see on day one as a dragon general. Velgar is the named boss of this pair of regions, not a random overworld spawn you should rush in starter bark.
Nine launch skills and Skill Spells
Early Access launched with nine unique skills. Skill Spells are the official answer to empty grinding: anima-powered utilities such as a spectral axe, blink, bones into peaches, and exploding ore veins sit in the same design family. Attack, Magic, and Ranged are the combat trio. Mining, Woodcutting, Runecrafting, Construction, Artisan, and Cooking filled the rest of that first nine. Farming arrived with Fellhollow. Fishing arrived after Dowdun Reach. Agility arrived in 0.12.1.
Trainable skills cap at 99. Prayer is labelled a future update, not a live skill, so do not plan a Brynmoor prayer altar as if it were Old School. Ranged later gained Hunter Sense, Spectral Arrow, and Snare, plus poisoned, barbed, and flaming ammo. You do not need those on night one. Get a shelter, a weapon style, and a gathering loop that feeds Cooking. Then look north toward Ghornfell when iron-tier gear and the first spells feel stable.
Velgar before you leave the south
Velgar is Kuldra’s first Dragon General, called Big High War God by goblins, with a wiki combat power of 4 and 6000 health at Velgar’s Rise / Fractured Plains. That fight sits on the Ghornfell side of the Early Access map, but the general still rules Brynmoor. Treat Dragon Slayer as a later gate into Fellhollow, not a Brynmoor checklist box. If you came here from a competitor “beginner guide,” keep first-party names: Bramblemead Valley, Temple Woods, Whispering Swamp.
When the landing notes above are marked, open the Ashenfall region index for power 3-4 Ghornfell, then the dragon comparison if you want Velgar’s titles next to Imaru, Fuzan, and Kuldra. Crafting from iron toward steel only matters once Fellhollow is in reach. Do not skip the raid brief forever, but do not walk into Scorned Wilderness from a Brynmoor bedroll either. The 1.0 Hub expects people who already survived the continent spine.
Quests, creatures, and the tone of the landing
Official site copy sends players on quests, skill training, and fights with Zogres, Black Knights, and the new Garou on a hand-crafted continent with reorchestrated RuneScape music. That loop starts here even if the named quest list for 1.0 also includes later beats such as Regicide in Scorned Wilderness. Use quests as reasons to leave camp, not as a substitute for the skill board. A first errand that teaches Temple Woods is worth more than a map ping you cannot yet survive.
Steam about-text still sells anima magic beside potions and gear. On a first landing that means: pick one combat style, keep stamina in mind after 0.12.1, and do not dump every resource into a palace. A hall can wait until Construction and Artisan have a rhythm. If you only mark one thing in the checklist, mark the shelter plus the first Skill Spell. Everything else in Brynmoor supports those two facts.
Co-op versus solo on the first map
Solo play is fully supported. Online co-op is the other official mode. A landing camp works either way: one bedroll and a cooking fire still beats a palace with no food. If you invite partners, split the first nine skills so Attack, a gathering skill, and Construction all move. Skill Spells make that split kinder than a cloned Gielinor grind, because a spectral axe or exploding vein can cover a missing specialist for a night.
Do not drag a fresh group into Velgar because a friend already has iron. Velgar is a power-4 general with 6000 wiki health at Velgar’s Rise / Fractured Plains. Brynmoor is power 1-2. Let the valley, woods, and swamp teach stamina, parry, and dodge after 0.12.1 before you spend a night on a dragon general. Iron-tier gear across melee, ranged, and magic is the honest outfit for this map.
When the checklist is marked, look north. Ghornfell is the same general, harder climate. Fellhollow is a later undead problem. The raid is later still. Official site copy already mentions quests, Zogres, Black Knights, and Garou on a hand-crafted continent with reorchestrated RuneScape music. Hear that music in Brynmoor first. The continent is long; the landing is short on purpose.
